About NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® Coffee Machine

NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® coffee machines have succeeded in conquering the hearts of thousands of coffee lovers due to their attractive price, compactness, mobility, simple operation, easy maintenance and, of course, ability to brew a wide variety of beverages. The fact that these coffee machines are capable of preparing delicious coffee at the touch of a single button is no less important in this success story.

Wide variety of pods. One of the main reasons behind the impressive popularity of these pod coffee machines is their ability to brew beverages of numerous different types. With a variety of NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® pods, you can enjoy espresso, cappuccino, latte, caramel latte macchiato or even hot chocolate!

In addition, you can also pick capsules produced by different manufacturers. Among the products in our range, you’ll find NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® compatible pods manufactured by “Coffee Friend”, “Charles Liégeois”, “Mokito” and “Starbucks”. There’s also the option of choosing reusable pods and using any of your favourite coffees when brewing drinks in a pod coffee machine. Therefore, every lover of coffee — or other drinks — is sure to find something that he or she will enjoy.

Hot and cold drinks. The integrated Hot & Cold function allows you to use Dolce Gusto® coffee machines to make cold drinks, as well as hot beverages. If your model is operated manually, all you have to do is turn the water lever to one side or the other. If your machine is automatic though, you won’t even have to do that: simply pressing the required button will be enough.

Convenient milk system. Unlike appliances produced by other manufacturers, the NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® coffee machines use pods with milk powder in them when making milk-based drinks. This is particularly convenient when there’s no fresh, cold milk beside you. It’s also a great solution for those who’d rather avoid the need of maintaining the milk system of their coffee machine. Simply insert a pod into the appliance and enjoy thick, delicious milk foam!

15-bar pressure technology. When brewing coffee, these appliances utilise pressure of 15 bar — as a result, the prepared drinks are just as good as the ones you’d be served in a restaurant.

Simple operation: manual or automatic. NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® pod machines are extremely easy to operate. Entry-level models are equipped with a manual operation system: all you have to do is insert a coffee pod into the appliance, lower the water lever and then release it once the desired amount of water has been dispensed. Automatic models make everything even simpler: insert a coffee pod, pick the desired amount of water based on the portion size recommended for your drink (the very same scale can be found both on your coffee machine and the packaging of your coffee capsules), then start dispensing water. Once the amount of water you’ve chosen is dispensed, the coffee machine will stop automatically.

Energy-saving mode. NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® coffee machines are equipped with an integrated energy-saving mode. After 1–5 minutes of inactivity (depending on the model), the appliance will switch off automatically, hence helping you save on your electric bill.

XL cup function. The majority of automated NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® coffee machines also come with an XL cup function. Using it will allow you to fill a larger takeaway cup — or even a whole thermos — with your favourite coffee.

Espresso Boost function. The latest NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® models include the so-called Espresso Boost feature, which enables coffee lovers to make their espresso more intense. Using this function, you can adjust your coffee to your individual taste and enjoy some extra flavour whenever you feel like it.

How to Choose the Right Model for You?

NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® pod machines are characterised by different designs, sizes, water tank shapes and capacities, types of operation (some of these machines are operated manually, while others are automatic), as well as additional integrated functions. To help you make your decision, we’re presenting the key characteristics of each model below.

Dolce Gusto® Piccolo XS

At just 16-cm-wide, 29-cm-high and 29-cm-deep, Dolce Gusto Piccolo XS is one of the most compact coffee machines ever produced by Dolce Gusto. It’s certainly interesting to note that despite its smaller size, the water tank of this coffee machine holds 0.8 l of water. However, the appliance is operated manually — which means that, in order to brew a cup, you’ll need to lower the lever yourself and then raise it again once you’re ready to stop the brewing process.

Dolce Gusto® Infinissima

The design of this Dolce Gusto Infinissima model is, once again, unique. If you’re looking for a particularly narrow coffee machine, the 15.5-cm-wide Infinissima is definitely worth considering. In addition, this model is equipped with the largest water tank yet: with a capacity of 1.2 l, it’s perfect for those who enjoy drinking bigger portions of coffee or tend to brew multiple cups a day. The appliance is operated manually.

Dolce Gusto® Mini Me

Unlike the previous models, this Dolce Gusto Mini Me coffee machine is equipped with an automated operation system. Use the control panel to pick the desired portion size and, once the amount of water you’ve specified has been dispensed, the machine will stop automatically. It’s worth noting that the scale displayed on the panel is identical to the scale found on the packaging of Dolce Gusto pods. The latter indicates the amount of water recommended for a particular type of coffee or a certain recipe, so this little feature is extremely convenient. The water tank of Mini Me holds 0.8 l of water.

Dolce Gusto® Genio S

In the Dolce Gusto Genio S line, the manufacturer has not only retained the most valuable qualities found in the Genio model described above, but also added some new features. This particular model is equipped with a larger water tank that holds up to 0.8 l of water. The tank is also much more convenient to remove and fill up. The upgraded design of this coffee machine endows the appliance with an exquisite, modern look. Its operation is automated.

Dolce Gusto® Genio S Plus

Dolce Gusto Genio S Plus coffee machine entices coffee lovers with its upgraded design, improved water tank, automated operation and, of course, additional features that are bound to come in handy. Fans of intense flavours will fall in love with the Espresso Boost function, which results in coffee that is much stronger than usual. The option of adjusting water temperature is guaranteed to be just as valuable, particularly to those who enjoy experimenting with different tastes.

Dolce Gusto® Genio S Touch

Out of all the machines in the Dolce Gusto Genio S line, Dolce Gusto Genio S Touch is definitely the smartest. In addition to being equipped with the amazing features found in other Genio S models — such as exquisite design, an improved water tank, automatic operation, the Espresso Boost function and adjustable water temperature — it also boasts a particularly modern touch-sensitive control panel.

How to Descale Dolce Gusto® Coffee Machine?

Although the maintenance of a Dolce Gusto® coffee machine is not difficult, it must be carried out regularly to maintain the highest quality and taste of your coffee. As a general rule, it is recommended to descale your pod coffee machine at least once every three months. Fill the water tank with descaling liquid and the required amount of water. Run the coffee machine until it has drained all the water. After draining, rinse the water tank thoroughly, fill it with clean water and rinse the water system again. This will remove any limescale or other dirt from the machine.

However, don’t forget the other Dolce Gusto® cleaning steps:

  • Don’t leave the drip tray dirty – clean it under running water or a wet cloth every time you spill the drink. Do the same with the coffee pod holder.
  • Regularly check and clean the head of the machine around the piercing needle.
  • After disconnecting the machine, find the cleaning needle and clean the injector.
