Meet the new, super special edition coming all the way from Mt. Elgon in Western Kenya! This is a gorgeous filter coffee that packs the famous fruity punch of Kenyan varieties, coupled with a surprisingly full body. A bit of cacao, a bit of red berries, a bit of praline… Yummy!
The longtime import partner of the Good Beans company, This Side Up, teamed up with an Amsterdam coffee legend, Stean Fasol, to bring this rare single-estate Kenyan coffee to the Netherlands. Stean, who grew up in Kenya, obtained a Kenyan export license, allowing him to bypass the country’s notoriously corrupt auction system and import beans directly from Gloria, Jarma, where the inspiring folks working at Sakami Coffee are located.
Sakami is one of the most sustainable growing operations in the country. They’re committed deeply to biodiversity and permaculture practices, and run their dry mill entirely on solar power. Each harvest, every ripened cherry is handpicked by a team of 100 local women.
These beans are suited perfectly for any filter brewing method: Aeropress, pour-over, batch brew, you name it. We’ll run out of this coffee in no time… so grab yours while it lasts!
