The brew unit of this coffee machine is indeed removeable. It's recommended to wash it under running water from time to time.

Fab machine! Have used it heavily for 2 years now at home. Average 6 cups a day. No issues with cleaning, yes it needs cleaned as do all coffee machines, but cleaning g frequency depends on how much it is used. You can turn off the rinse function if you wish. Whilst the water receptacle could be bigger, this is shown on the product spec so do your research before buying. It always pays to read the manual too and there’s a good app for help too.

Dreadful machine. Ours has broken within two years and good riddance. Talk about high maintenance; if you’re not running the cleaning programme you’re having to run the descaling programme, both of which take about half an hour and require your presence, and you’re constantly having to fill the water tank and empty the drip tray, which often overflows anyway because it rinses itself before and after every use. All that might be excusable if it was a reliable machine but it isn’t, ours started malfunctioning after 18 months and is now stuck in an endless cleaning cycle.
