We loved this machine to start with. It does need regular cleaning and descaling but we have always done this rigorously when prompted by the machine and have always used genuine Siemens products. Then just within the 2 year guarantee period we had problems with it not working and various error messages and it had to be sent back to Siemens twice to sort this out. The machine isn’t yet 4 years old and has only been for domestic use for the 2 of us. It does brew very nice coffee but once things start to go wrong they really go wrong! Over past few months the machine has generated random rubbish error messages e.g. change water filter when it doesn’t have one! Recently had an error message that said to contact Siemens. Did so and now we are out of guarantee it’s over £100 call out fee before anything is even done to the machine. That error message disappeared if you turned the machine on and off and the machine then worked fine again for several weeks. So it would probably have been a complete waste of engineer time and our money to have someone out to diagnose such an intermittent fault. Roll on a few more weeks and the machine has suddenly stopped brewing coffee though the frothy milk system still works. So we thought perhaps we need a new brewing unit. Simple to remove this as we have to do so regularly to clean it when prompted by machine. But can you easily buy one of these direct from Siemens…. NO. There is no easy way to locate the item on their website without knowing the product number and that cannot easily be found anywhere. It is available on the web from other sources but we would have preferred to buy direct from Siemens to have assurance the part really was a genuine version. Now giving up on that idea – as my partner says it’s probably just going to be one thing after another that goes wrong with the machine now so no point in throwing away money. Sadly we will not be buying this Siemens machine again as it has not proved to be financially viable and sustainable. We’ll opt for another make of bean to cup machine as there are now recommended versions out there that may well cost less than Siemens would charge us for an engineer callout, diagnosis and new parts.

Siemens TQ505GB9 EQ.500 & a set of 6 cappuccino cups w/ saucers.
I purchased my Siemens EQ500 coffee machine just a month ago from Coffee Friend, & have been testing it together w/ my 6 cups & saucers. The EQ500 machine is excellent & you’ll need to empty the internal tray w/ coffee & water in it, periodically & @ the end of the day’s usage, you’ll need to take 5 mins of your time to clean it out afterwards. W/ regards to the ceramic cups & saucers, you’ll need to take the chill out of the milk (set to room temp. If the milk container is filled w/ 600ml – then use your microwave for 1 min & 30 secs to remove the chill from it.) Plus, it’s this! You’ll need to heat up each & every cup for a cappuccino for two mins in your microwave set @ 900 watts & prior to making each & every cappuccino. If you fail to heat up your cappuccino cup before using it for a cup of cappuccino, you’ll only get a look-warm cup of coffee!

The coffee machine is stylish but most of all prepares really good beverages . Definitely would recommend ! The temperature of drinks is also amazing , you can set it how hot you want the beverages to be.

You can’t set it to any temperature that you like. There are 3 levels and the hottest only gives yo at best lukewarm coffee.

Failed totally after a few months. Returned under guarantee and with no discussion was sent someone else’s obviously faulty machine (loud noise when pumping coffee). Would I buy Siemens again? Erm…No!
