Shower screen E&B LAB by IMS E61 Nanotech

The new shower screen by “E&B LAB” is an improved version of the popular IMS competition shower. To produce it, “E&B LAB” has combined nanotechnology with IMS know-how gained over seven decades of shower screen production. This has led to the creation of a range of reinforced shower screens with a photo-etched membrane and NanoQuartz coating.

WHAT ARE SHOWER SCREENS USED FOR? 

The shower screen, or dispersion screen, is responsible for dispersing water evenly over the coffee puck. When making espresso, the puck expands within the space between the portafilter basket and the shower screen to create the 9 bars of pressure essential for proper espresso.

PERFECT EXTRACTION WITH THE SHOWER EFFECT

One of the key features of the NanoQuartz coating found in this shower screen is antiadhesion. In addition to resulting in simpler cleaning, it creates a shower effect, which moistens the coffee puck without forming channels and thus improves coffee extraction. Proper reinforcement prevents the shower from losing its shape even in the case of extra large coffee doses, maintaining the required flatness over time.

127 HOLES AND QUARTZ NANOTECHNOLOGY

This shower screen boasts 127 holes, as well as a Quartz Nanotech-reinforced membrane with a filtering capacity of 200 µm. It’s suited for E61 models, “Kees van der Westen E.W.”, “Sanremo” and other espresso machines.
